Frequently Asked Questions

No. Your contact details are hidden by default. You control who can see them — only after you accept an enquiry or set your NDA preference to allow it will developers get in touch directly.
GreenSite has four verification levels: Self Declared → Documents Uploaded → KYC Verified → Fully Verified. Higher levels give developers more confidence and improve your listing's visibility.
The Suitability Score (0–100) rates how suitable a parcel is for renewable energy development based on area, grid proximity, voltage level, document completeness and land type. An 80+ score indicates an excellent site.
Khasra numbers are government-issued parcel identifiers from the land records (Jamabandi / RoR). Developers use them to verify ownership, check encumbrances, and conduct title due diligence before committing.
Listing land and browsing sites is free. GreenSite operates on a deal-facilitation model — contact our team for details on premium features and transaction support services.
GreenSite currently has listings across 12 states including Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and Odisha.

Solutions · Solar

Land built for solar generation

Ground-mount solar lives and dies by irradiance, terrain and grid distance. GreenSiteX scores every parcel on exactly those factors — so you shortlist land that actually pencils out, not land that merely looks flat on a map.

What makes land solar-ready

The factors we score for solar

Each parcel is measured against the criteria that drive a solar project's yield and cost.

☀️

Solar resource (GHI)

Global horizontal irradiance from NASA POWER, with P50/P75/P90 exceedance for bankable yield.

📐

Slope & aspect

Low slope and favourable aspect cut earthwork and racking cost — scored from SRTM terrain.

🔌

Grid proximity

Distance to the nearest substation and line, plus available evacuation capacity.

🧩

Contiguity & geometry

Large, regular, contiguous parcels pack more MW per acre with less dead area.

🌊

Flood & hazard

JRC floodplain, seismic and CRZ screening keep a costly surprise out of diligence.

🪨

Soil bearing

Bearing capacity and expansive-clay checks size your pile foundations correctly.

Solutions · Wind

Land where the wind pays back

Wind is unforgiving about resource and logistics. GreenSiteX extrapolates wind speed to hub height, screens turbine-transport access and settlement setbacks, and ranks land on power density — not just average speed.

What makes land wind-ready

The factors we score for wind

Resource, exposure and buildability — the trio that decides a wind site.

💨

Wind speed & WPD

Speed extrapolated to 100–200 m hub height via power law, scored on wind power density.

⛰️

Exposure & terrain

Ridgelines and open exposure lift yield; ruggedness (TRI) flags turbulence and complex flow.

🚚

Transport access

Highway and road proximity for moving blades, towers and cranes to site.

🏘️

Settlement setbacks

Distance-to-settlement buffers keep noise and safety compliance in view up front.

🔌

Grid & evacuation

Substation distance and capacity for getting generation onto the network.

🕊️

Ecology & hazard

Protected areas, Great Indian Bustard habitat, seismic and cyclone return-period screening.

Solutions · Battery Storage

Sites for grid-scale battery storage

BESS wins on location, not acreage — a compact footprint right at a strong grid injection point. GreenSiteX finds land close to substations and high-demand nodes, screened for flood, fire-setback and seismic safety.

What makes a good BESS site

The factors we score for storage

Storage economics hinge on grid position and site safety far more than land size.

🔌

Grid injection point

Proximity to substations and available capacity — the single biggest driver of BESS value.

📍

Compact footprint

Small, regular parcels near demand centres beat sprawling land for storage.

🌊

Flood-safe ground

Floodplain screening protects containers and power electronics from water risk.

🔥

Fire & safety setbacks

Distance from settlements and sensitive receptors supports fire-safety compliance.

🌐

Seismic screening

BIS seismic-zone data flags where structural design needs to account for higher risk.

🚚

Road access

All-weather access for container delivery, augmentation and O&M.

Solutions · Green Hydrogen

Land for green hydrogen & ammonia

Green hydrogen needs the whole package — cheap co-located solar or wind, water, large contiguous land and evacuation to demand or ports. GreenSiteX screens all of it in one pass, so you site electrolysers where the economics work.

What makes land H₂-ready

The factors we score for hydrogen

Electrolysis at scale demands power, water and space — together, in one place.

Co-located resource

Strong solar and/or wind on or beside the parcel to keep renewable power cost low.

💧

Water availability

Groundwater depth from CGWB and proximity to water sources — feedstock for electrolysis.

🗺️

Large contiguous land

Room for generation, electrolyser, storage and balance-of-plant on one footprint.

🔌

Grid & evacuation

Connection for hybrid firming and export of surplus power.

Demand & port access

Highway, rail and port proximity for offtake, ammonia export and logistics.

🛡️

Hazard clearance

Flood, seismic, protected-area and CRZ screening for a large industrial footprint.

About GreenSiteX

Powering India's energy transition, one parcel at a time

We're building the infrastructure that connects the land India needs with the developers building its renewable future — with transparency, verified data and zero friction.

Why we exist

India's renewable targets are enormous — and the single biggest bottleneck isn't panels, turbines or capital. It's land. Finding suitable, project-ready parcels is slow, opaque and dominated by intermediaries. Landowners rarely know what their land is worth to a developer; developers burn months and lakhs on field visits to rule sites out.

GreenSiteX replaces that with a single, data-rich marketplace. Every parcel arrives pre-scored on the factors that actually matter, so both sides negotiate from facts — not hearsay.

What we do

We combine three things most platforms keep separate: a two-sided marketplace for renewable land, a geospatial data engine that enriches every parcel with 40+ authoritative layers, and a browser-based GIS toolkit for real diligence. The result is a workflow that takes land from a map pin to a signed lease, sale or JV.

What we believe

🔍

Transparency

We name our data sources, our assumptions and our gaps. No black boxes.

Verification

Listings are checked, not just uploaded — so trust is the default, not the exception.

Speed

Decisions that took months should take days. The data is already there.

Join the transition

List your land, discover sites, or partner with us.

Trust & Verification

Verified land you can actually build on

A marketplace is only as good as the trust behind its listings. Here's how GreenSiteX verifies parcels, screens land titles and sources its data — so what you see is what you get.

Our verification workflow

Four checks before a listing earns trust

1
Identity & ownership

Listers are registered and their claim to the parcel is checked before a listing goes live.

2
Boundary & location

The GIS boundary is validated against the map — no phantom acreage or mislocated pins.

3
Title diligence

Our LandMaster partners scrutinise land-title details at the local level where deeper checks are needed.

4
Data enrichment

Every parcel is scored against authoritative public datasets, with sources and disclaimers surfaced.

Data you can audit

Sourced, dated and disclosed

GreenSiteX doesn't invent numbers. Every scored factor traces back to a named, authoritative dataset.

🛰️

Authoritative sources

NASA POWER, Copernicus/JRC, Sentinel-2, SRTM, WDPA, IMD, CGWB, ISRIC and India's national portals.

📋

Honest disclaimers

Every analysis reports what's modelled, what's sampled and what isn't yet wired — no overclaiming.

🔐

You control disclosure

Owners stay anonymous until they choose to respond; sensitive details are shared on your terms.

data.gov.in API Key

India tehsil / taluka fallback
When NAPIX LGD is not configured, tehsil/taluka data is fetched from data.gov.in (India Open Government Data) — free, no subscription needed. Register at data.gov.in/user/register, then copy your API key from your profile page. Covers all Indian districts via the LGD Sub-District Directory dataset. Wikidata (free, no key) and OSM are also tried automatically without this key.

Card Manager

All card types
Configure every card type across the site — toggle visible parts, rename labels, add custom data points or delete them. Select a category below to start.
Visible Card Parts — structural on/off per card type
All changes save to the server automatically.

Knowledge Hub articles are managed in their own tab → Knowledge Hub Articles.

SEO & Analytics

These tags are injected server-side on every page load — visible to search engines and social media crawlers.
Page Identity
Open Graph — Facebook, LinkedIn, WhatsApp previews
Twitter / X Card
Organization & Local SEO — powers Google Knowledge Panel & structured data
Sitemap & Robots
Live endpoints: /sitemap.xml · /robots.txt — submit the sitemap in Google Search Console.
Google Integration
Connect Google tools here — the server injects them into every page. Use this instead of pasting Google snippets into Custom Code (avoids duplicate tags).
Tip: if both GTM and GA4 are set, configure GA4 inside your GTM container to avoid double-counting. GTM alone is enough if it already contains your GA4 tag.
Settings are injected into every page response by the server.

AI Settings

Smart Fill
Configure the Anthropic API key used by AI Smart Fill to extract property details from URLs and text. The key is stored securely on the server and never exposed to the browser.

AI Land Cover (LULC)

Sentinel-2
URL of your self-hosted LULC model service (see lulc-service/ in the repo). When set, the LandX assess tool and parcel pages show an AI land-cover breakdown + % developable land. Leave blank to disable.

SMS Gateway for OTP

Configure the SMS provider used to send OTP verification messages to mobile numbers during registration and profile updates.
Get your API key from fast2sms.com → Developer → API Key. Use the OTP route for best delivery.
Use {{phone}}, {{otp}}, {{message}} as placeholders in the body template.

Built-in Basemaps

Toggle which basemaps appear in the map switcher dropdown across the site. At least one must remain enabled.

Custom GIS Layers

Add any XYZ tile URL or WMS service as an additional basemap option. Custom layers are stored in your browser.

GIS Overlay Layers

Configure WMS services or GeoJSON URLs to display as overlays on site and requirement maps. Layers are clipped to the selected site's boundary polygon.
Tip: drag any layer (⠿) onto a catalogue to bundle it. Bundled layers move out of the main list.

Quick Presets

Reusable layer templates organized by scope. Click one to pre-fill the GIS Overlay form.

Custom Code

Inject custom HTML, CSS, or JavaScript into every page. Code is added server-side so it applies globally — use for analytics scripts, custom fonts, chat widgets, tracking pixels, etc.

Raw HTML injected inside <head>. Use for meta tags, link tags, custom font declarations, etc.

CSS rules injected as <style> in <head>. Useful for overriding platform styles or adding global rules.

JavaScript injected as <script> in <head>. For head scripts and loaders. Google Tag Manager / Analytics belong in SEO & Meta → Google Integration — Google snippets pasted here are ignored to prevent duplicate tags.

Raw HTML injected just before </body>. Use for chat widgets or content that needs the full DOM. (GTM noscript is handled automatically by Google Integration.)

JavaScript injected as <script> just before </body>. For deferred scripts, widget initializers, or anything that needs the DOM ready.
